Budget:
PTSA President Bob Spear distributed the PTSA Budget for 2010-2011 to all attendees. Principal Cindy Giorgis provided an update
on the International Baccaulaureate (IB) Program. Eight Level I teachers will participate in IB Training Conferences in December
in Hawaii. The Omidyar Foundation has committed to provide $10,000 for Haha'ione School substitute teacher funding and teacher
professional days support.
eScrip Program: eScrip program chair Kirk Cummings provided an overview of the program,
which offers Haha'ione School the opportunity to earn free money from Safeway. Parents and supporters can participate
in this program by signing up at http://www.escrip.com/. During Aug.11th - Sept.14th, 10% will be donated from specific purchases; must use your registered
Safeway Club Card at the time of purchase. Parents may also register at the Haha'ione School Open House on August 19th.
Our goal is to exceed last year's income of $1,000.
Open House: Scheduled for August 19th at 6:30
p.m.
Box Tops Program: Last year's campaign generated more than $1,900. Parents and supporters are to be reminded
that we should submit these Box Tops to the school throughout the year.
Fun Run: Event day scheduled for
September 22nd. Kick-off Assembly scheduled for August 27th at 1:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
Membership:
43 people thus far have signed up to become PTSA members. Nearly $1,000 was generated in income.
Ohana Night:
Chair Allison Provenza is coordinating event; slated for September 10th.
Fun Fair Carnival: Saturday,
November 13th (Time TBD). Chairs Jim Petrides and Allison Provenza have a call out for paper goods donations that
include plates, napkins, plastic utensils, etc. More wish list items forthcoming in future communications.
Program
Chairs and Volunteers Needed: PTSA seeks program chairs, co-chairs and volunteers for all programs. Information
